How It All Began

Cotswolds Radio started broadcasting during lockdown on 27th March 2020 as Radio Northleach, with a breakfast show presented by its founders, Richard & Keith Blundell, from Richard's cellar. The initial purpose was to keep residents and the wider community up to date with news, and to provide some light entertainment and positivity, during a tough time of isolation and uncertainty.  
Awareness spread and more people got involved and the station was rebranded, Cotswolds Radio. To date, we have over 30 live shows on a monthly rolling schedule, and more than 45 regular presenters and counting.  
 
We are a non-profit company, run entirely by volunteers. We consistently fundraise to keep the radio operational and to ensure its longevity, but also fundraise to support local community charities, such as Kate’s Nursing Home, Sunflowers Suicide Support, Headspace, Northleach Primary School and The Cotswold School. We truly believe there is something for everyone to get involved in and practice our mantra to be ‘in the community, for the community, by the community’.
Get Involved
People can volunteer their time and expertise, to help with marketing or fundraising, for example. We are always eager to hear from volunteers with a passion to produce and present their own show. We ensure volunteers are fully trained and supported. 
 
We’d like to highlight the incredible community support we've received since the station's inception. Our listeners aren't just passive listeners; they're active participants in shaping our programming and contributing to the vibrant culture of our community. Their involvement truly sets us apart.
 
We're continuously exploring new ways to connect with our audience and provide them with valuable content. From expanding our show schedule or digital presence, we're committed to evolving alongside the needs and interests of our community.
